Four men have been charged with fraud offences after elderly people in Camden were targeted by conmen posing as police officers.

One 78-year-old woman was tricked into handing over cash and bank cards in the scam in June 2016.

Charlie Heath and Sayim Ahmed, both 21 and of Whidborne Street, were charged with making or supplying articles for use in fraud and possessing or supplying articles for use in fraud respectively on Saturday, March 11.

Two 18-year-olds, Shaheedul Abedin, of Pollard Street, Tower Hamlets, and Kawsar Ahmed, of Sydenham Hill, Southwark, were also charged with the latter offence.

They are due to appear before Highbury Magistrates on April 24.
