A man accused of defrauding more than £2million from Barnet Council and contracting giant Capita appeared in Willesden Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
Trishul Shah, 38, is accused of giving instructions for 62 payments, totalling £2,630,972, into his own bank accounts between July 2016 and December 2017.
Mr Shah will submit his plea in Harrow Crown Court on July 31 after his case was deemed too serious for the magistrates court.
At the time of the offences, Mr Shah worked as a capital investment manager for Regional Enterprise Ltd, the joint venture between London Borough of Barnet and Capita plc formed as part of their 10-year contract.
The payments related to fake Compulsory Purchase Orders, the means by which bodies can acquire land or property without the consent of the owner.
