A 20-year-old man from Marylebone was charged this morning with possession of a submachine gun and 24 bullets.
Mohamed Elyasse Taleouine, of Morris House in Salisbury Street, appeared before Westminster Magistrates’ Court this afternoon after his arrest on January 10 by officers from the Metropolitan Police’s Counter Terrorism Command.
He is charged with possessing a converted 9mm blank-firing Mac10-style submachine gun, and 24 live 9mm bullets, without a firearms certificate.
He was remanded in custody to appear at Southwark Crown Court on March 22.
