Staff at Penrose Care in Belsize Lane were shocked to discover windows smashed and their office ransacked when they arrived to work Monday morning, later finding one of their computers missing.

CCTV footage of the incident showed two helmeted individuals on a moped carrying out the theft.

It then shows one of the hapless pair dropping and smashing what is thought to be the only gain of their exploits - a computer.

Robert Stephenson-Padron, managing director of Penrose Care, said: “It’s ridiculous to be targeted like this as we’re a well-respected company that does a lot of social good in the community.

“We have CCTV [of the incident]. They only took one computer and it’s one we were trying to sell anyway.

“They dropped it on the way out and you can see they smashed its screen. I’m guessing they broke it in the process.”

Mr Stephenson-Padron warned the community to remain vigilant in light of the incident.
