A man was left needing facial reconstruction after a group of men attacked him and his friend for accidentally spilling a drink on a woman.

Him and his friend were “viciously” attacked by six men after they chatted to a woman underneath Camden Town blue railway bridge, on Chalk Farm Road, and spilt a drink on her.

The victims, both aged 19, were beaten severely and knocked unconscious.

As one victim lay immobile on the pavement, the group repeatedly kicked him the head, causing him to require facial surgery and metal plates in both cheeks.

The incident occurred at at around 1.30 am on Sunday May 15 and the suspects are all described as white men in their 20s.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

Detective constable James Dillury, from Camden CID, said: “This was an unprovoked attack on two men who were heading home. The level of violence shown by the suspects, who kicked a man as he lay immobile on the pavement is of grave concern, they could easily have killed him.

“I would urge anyone who was in the Camden Town area that night who is yet to speak with officers to come forward. I am particularly keen to speak with the woman who chatted with the victims underneath the railway bridge.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Camden CID via 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
