An 18-year-old man has been charged with murdering two young men during the night of stabbings in Camden.
Isaiah Popoola, of Grafton Way, Fitzrovia, was charged last night with the murders of Abdikarim Hassan and Sadiq Aadam Mohamed.
Officers were called to Bartholomew Road at the junction with Oseney Crescent, Camden, last Tuesday at around 8.30pm, where they found 17-year-old Mr Hassan suffering stab wounds. He died at the scene.
Less than two hours later police were called to Malden Road, near to the junction with Marsden Street, where they found a 20-year-old man with stab wounds.
The victim, Mr Mohamed, also died at the scene.
On top of the murder charges Popoola was charged with grievous bodily harm and attempted grievous bodily harm against two other young men.
At about 8pm the same night a 17-year-old boy was found stabbed in Aldenham Street. His injuries were not life threatening, according to police.
A second victim, aged 24, was also attacked but did not sustain serious injuries.
Four men - aged 24, 23, 20 and 21 - were arrested the next day on suspicion of grievous bodily harm. They have since been released under investigation.
Popoola is remanded in custody to appear at Highbury Magistrates’ Court on Monday, February 26.
