A police officer was treated in hospital after being attacked and mauled in the groin by a vicious pitbull type dog in Camden during a drugs raid.

The officer was executing a warrant at an address in Broadfield Lane, Camden, at 7:30am on February 10 when he was attacked by the dog which police dog experts say is a banned bread.

A police spokesman said: “ The officer sustained number of puncture wounds to his inner thigh and left forefinger and lacerations to his hand. He was treated at UCH.

“The pitbull type dog was confiscated.”

Following the incident, a 27-year-old woman was issued with a penalty notice for disorder for possession of Cannabis.
