Police are appealing to a Good Samaritan who came to the aid of an elderly woman during an attempted robbery to contact them.
On November 2, a 67-year-old woman got off the number 168 bus in Steele’s Road, Steele’s Village, Belsize Park, at the junction with Haverstock Hill and walked into Parkhill Road where she was approached from behind by a woman who tried to snatch her bag.
She held onto her bag but was dragged into the road before being helped by a passing driver who escorted her home.
The suspect, a woman in her 20s with blonde shoulder length hair, alleged to passers-by that she was the victim and continued to follow the elderly victim and the driver for a short distance before running off when confronted.
Police wish to speak to the driver and any other witnesses.
Anyone with information is asked to call DC Ursula Surgenor or DS Neil Johnstone of Camden Police on 101. Alternatively, if you wish to remain anonymous call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
