Golders Green Tube station was forced to close for two hours after a group of youths fled into the station following a suspected robbery at a nearby phone shop today (Thursday, January 10).
Police were called at around midday after youths were seen entering Carphone Warehouse, in Golders Green Road, and leaving minutes later heading towards the Tube station.
Two arrests were made and some items were recovered.
A spokesman for British Transport Police said officers carried out an “extensive search of the tracks” at the Tube station after reports of trespassers, “but to no avail”.
The Northern Line service was suspended both ways between Camden Town and Edgware just after midday - closing a number of stations including Golders Green and Hampstead.
Transport for London re-opened the Northern Line at 2.13pm.
