Officers seized a machine gun and drugs with a street value of £6.4million from vehicles and an address in Avenue Road in Crouch End following the crash at the Mr Dweeb repair shop, in Park Road.

Tristen Asllani, 29, of Frognal, Hampstead, Arber Beqaj, 24, and Ndricim Musaj, 24, both of no fixed abode, were sentenced to a total of 42 years between them by a judge at Kingston Crown Court last Thursday for their parts in the drugs network.

The court heard that police acting on intelligence watched Asllani hand over a suitcase containing 12kg of Cocaine to the other men in Avenue Road on January 25.

Asllani then went into an address in Avenue Road and picked up another suitcase and a rucksack before driving off in a car.

Officers searching the area with police dogs found him hiding near to the scene. He was arrested and 21kgs of cocaine was seized.

Officers searched the Avenue Road address and found a further 16.5kgs of cannabis and a Skorpion machine gun fitted with a silencer.

Beqaj and Musaj had left the scene in a taxi which was stopped and searched by police who recovered more drugs and arrested the men.

Asllani was jailed for a total of 25 years after admitting conspiracy to supply drugs, dangerous driving and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.

Beqaj was put behind bars for eight years after pleading guilty to a conspiracy to supply drugs.

Musaj who had denied conspiracy to supply drugs was imprisoned for nine years after being found guilty by a jury at Kingston Crown Court on August 3.

Det Con Raines, of the Met’s Specialist Crime and Operations Command, said: “This network was supplying large amounts of drugs. The drugs seized in this case had an estimated street value of up to £6.4million.

“Asllani’s reckless attempt to avoid capture endangered the public in the area and caused damage to private property. I am delighted that this dangerous network has been convicted and that their stock will not be sold on the streets of London.”
