Appeal to find woman after Westminster cash in transit robbery

Police are looking woman who spoke to officers after a car accident in Maida Vale which may be linked to a cash in transit robbery.

The woman - who is not a suspect - spoke to uniformed officers after the collision, which happened at the junction of Elgin Avenue and Randolph Avenue on the afternoon of Tuesday, February 26.

One of the cars is believed to have been used as the get-away vehicle in a robbery in nearby Hatton Street, during which three men robbed a security van of a quantity of cash.

Officers are now seeking to trace the woman they spoke to and ask her to call Det Con Alex George of the Flying Squad at Barnes on 020 8247 7897 or to remain anonymous call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Det Con George also wishes to speak with anyone who witnessed the robbery or collision, or has information they may assist the inquiry.

+ A man has been arrested on suspicion of robbery. He has been bailed to return pending further enquiries, next due in August.
