Two weeks of intense competition at Coolhurst Tennis Club ended with Damion Jackson and Emma Kirk being crowned singles champions on Saturday.
A large crowd turned out on the Crouch End club’s finals day, as Jackson and Kirk – both left-handers – won their respective events, despite being forced onto the artificial courts due to heavy rain.
And Jackson was soon celebrating a double triumph, as he triumphed alongside rising nationally-ranked club junior Stephen Searle in the men’s doubles.
The ladies’ doubles was won by Katherine Montague and Natalie Jordan, while Chris Penny and Montague won the mixed doubles.
The event proved a great success, with prizes presented to the winners of both the tennis and squash annual tournaments.
