Claudia Winkleman will be adding a bit of showbiz sparkle – and potentially a few Strictly sequins – to proceedings as she switches on Marylebone’s Christmas lights this year.

Ms Winkleman will be turning on the lights in Marylebone High Street on Wednesday, November 14, in support of charity partner Rays of Sunshine, which grants wishes for children with serious and life limiting illness in the UK aged three to18.

The Strictly Come Dancing presenter will be helped with the task by 11-year-old Sophie and Alejandro, five, who have both received a wish from the charity.

Ms Winkleman said: “Rays of Sunshine is a wonderful charity which gives seriously ill children and their families the chance to suspend normal life and experience something magical. I attended the Marylebone Christmas Lights Event last year and it completely captured all that is enchanting about London at Christmas time. I am thrilled to be performing the honour this year and do hope to see you all there supporting this amazing cause.”
