THE new improved Church Street Library will reopen in August after a �2million makeover.
The library has been shut since 2008 when funding was secured for renovations on the dilapidated building.
The library will see public space almost treble in size to 720sqm with separate floors designed specifically to cater for different age groups.
"In the past, the library had one floor for public access," said library project manager Laura Hannan.
"It was really busy and overcrowded and there were no study or computer provisions.
"Now we have three floors accessible to the public and we have a lift connecting them. It's fully air conditioned and wi-fi internet access runs throughout the building.
