CHILDREN from a West Hampstead primary had a new garden to play in when they returned to school this month.

Communications company the Marketing Store built the garden for free using synthetic turf and painted a mural based on The Jolly Postman by Janet and Allan Ahlberg in the playground of Beckford Primary on Dornfell Street.

Charlie Hutchinson, one of the 150 employees who helped make it, said: "We were working on a teaching assistant programme, where someone from the company goes into the school every Friday, and wanted to do a community project. Everyone from the company pitched in and we had a lot of fun - it's great to get out of the office and do something else!"

"We are really pleased with the garden and the mural," said assistant headteacher Vicky Brown.

"The children love to go in there and play. We are absolutely delighted.
