Renowned children’s author Judith Kerr was the guest of honour at a special event hosted at the London Jewish Cultural Centre (LJCC) on Sunday for several generations of Jewish refugees.

The gathering, jointly organised with the Association of Jewish Refugees (AJR), at Ivy House, in North End Green Road, Golders Green, saw the 91-year-old writer speak at length about her life and read passages from her literary works.

Michael Newman, chief executive of the AJR, said: “Judith is an inspiration to millions and it is a privilege to welcome her to this special inter-generational event.

“Her iconic books have been captivating children for many years and we are thrilled that she will be sharing her life story with our members, their children, grandchildren, and even great grandchildren.”
