FIREFIGHTERS helped youngsters to safety on Sunday when two fires started in the same street in less than an hour.
Firefighters were called to a flat in Campsbourne Parade overlooking Hornsey High Street at 11.50pm.
Then just 40 minutes later another fire ripped through a flat on the other side of the High Street above Tesco.
Fire crews have been unable to establish if the two blazes are linked and are looking into the causes.
A spokesman for London Fire Bri-gade said: "We are investigating both fires and at the moment it's too early to say whether or not they are linked.
"If it was arson then the police will also be looking into it."

One woman jumped from the second floor of her building to escape the flames during the second fire.
She was taken to the Whittington Hospital to be treated for head injuries she suffered in the fall.
The fire in the High Street badly damaged a flat and crews used a ladder to rescue two children from the building.
A man and two children living in the Campsbourne Parade flat were also led to safety down an indoor staircase.
A total of 40 firefighters attended the blaze today and eight people were taken by ambulance to the Whittington Hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation.
Edita Pauliukeviciute, 29, lives next door to the apartment that caught fire in Campsbourne Parade.
She said: "I heard the smoke alarm going next door - it seemed to go off and stop several times. Then I looked out of the window and saw all the firefighters and police officers. I could smell burning and I was terrified of falling asleep with my daughter there - I was worried the fire would spread to our apartment.
