Children as young as six urged Hampstead and Kilburn MP Glenda Jackson to back a charity’s campaign against worldwide hunger – by presenting her with a hand-stitched quilt.
Children and young people aged six to 18 gave Ms Jackson the quilt which they created in workshops at Little Hands Design, a social enterprise in Belsize Lane, Belsize Park.
The idea was for the youngsters to show their commitment to the fight against child malnutrition and extreme hunger by stitching messages supporting the charity Save The Children’s Race Against Hunger campaign into their designs.
Astrid Jacoby, director of Little Hands Design, said: “We were really impressed at how passionate the kids and teenagers were about the issue of children going hungry.”
