Three children escaped unscathed from a burning house in Kentish Town before firefighters arrived to tackle the blaze.
The youngsters fled from a house in Patshull Road along with three adults who were also inside when flames took hold at about 8pm last night.
Fire crews from Kentish Town, Euston and Holloway rushed to the scene and fought for more than an hour to extinguish the fire.
The third floor was heavily damaged but no-one was hurt in the incident.
The cause is under investigation.
