A charity challah bake was interrupted by a special guest as the Chief Rabbi, Ephraim Mirvis, delighted attendees by paying a visit.
The bake, organised by Jewish Care in association with Jewish charity Norwood, was held at Jewish Care’s Maurice and Vivienne Wohl Campus in Golders Green.
Rabbi Mirvis said: “I am delighted to be here for this special occasion, a partnership event between Jewish Care and Norwood, two phenomenally important and extraordinary organisations in our community and to see you all. For me I want to tell you, you are an inspiration – thank you so much for the mitzvahs you do, all the kindness, all the chesed and making the challahs together – we are all one.”
Jewish Care resident Reva Stock, 94, said:“It was lovely to meet the Chief Rabbi. I have had a wonderful experience today, this is the first time I have made challah.”
