A road crash in Highgate led a Channing schoolgirl to come within minutes of missing a crucial exam - but she triumphed last week with 11 A* GCSEs.
Dalia Blass, 16, said she was forced to run one mile from North Hill to her school in The Bank after the collision near an Esso garage in Archway Road blocked the roads.
She got to her chemistry exam in June with just two minutes to spare but still managed to score an impressive A* in the subject to match her 10 other top grades.
Dalia, of Finchley Central, said: βIt really put things into perspective, I just felt so lucky to be able to take my exams.β
Dalia, who will stay at Channing School for her A-levels, joined the rest of her year group in celebrating results at Reading Festival over the bank holiday weekend.
