Pupils have handed over a cheque for more than £500 to the founder of a mental health charity.
SANE, founded by Highgate investigative journalist Marjorie Wallace, was chosen by students at all-girls Channing School in The Bank, Highgate, as their cause of the year.
On Friday, they presented Ms Wallace with a cheque for £550, the total of their fundraising efforts so far.
A statue of black dog “Horace” stands outside the school hall to highlight the charity’s Black Dog campaign to eliminate stigma surrounding mental illness.
Ms Wallace said: “We are absolutely thrilled that Channing School has adopted SANE’s black dog Horace. Thanks to so many lovely girls who have adopted mental health as their cause.”
