Plans to bulldoze a tennis club in Golders Green and replace it with a housing estate and apartment block have been approved.
Last Thursday, Barnet Council’s planning and environment committee gave the go-ahead to knock down Chandos Lawn Tennis Club, in Chandos Way, Wellgarth Road.
The club, which was opened in 1934, will be replaced by six detached houses as well as a four-storey, U-shaped block of 39 apartments.
However, a new tennis club will be built on the site of Finchley Manor Garden Centre, in East End Road, East Finchley.
