The rain couldn’t stop campaigners from standing on the street to protest against the continued closure of their neighbourhood pub.
Locals staged a vigil last Tuesday to urge pub chain Faucet Inn to re-open The Dartmouth Arms in York Rise, Dartmouth Park.
They stood with signs emblazoned with slogans, such as ‘They’re Faucet Inn – we’ll force them out!”. The company is said to have promised to open the pub again by Christmas. It has been closed now for nearly a year, since the end of January. Faucet Inn has permission to turn the upper floors into homes but work has been delayed. Initially pub bosses said the works would only take 16 weeks.
The Ham&High has contacted Faucet Inn for a response.
