THE AUTHOR Dame Beryl Bainbridge, who lived in Camden Town, has died after a short illness.
Her agent confirmed that Dame Beryl, 75, died in the early hours of this morning.
She was nominated five times for the Booker Prize and won the Whitbread novel award twice - for Injury Time in 1977 and, in 1996, for Every Man For Himself.
Her obituary will be printed in the Ham&High on Thursday, July 8.
