Camden Labour are hoping to keep their strong hold over the council as they battle to decrease the opposition.

The leader of the council Georgia Gould is fighting her first election since becoming leader last year.

The Conservatives will want to keep their place as the main opposition party, but there are fears their seats in Swiss Cottage, and Belsize are under threat from Labour.

Meanwhile the Liberal Democrats will be looking to build on their single seat in the chamber, after they were almost wiped off the council in 2014.

Lib Dem leader Flick Rea, councillor for Fortune Green, is currently the party’s only representative.

The Green Party are in a similar position. Sian Berry in Highgate is their only councillor, although the party are hoping to increase their numbers.
