Six Camden Tories were running for charity rather than for office last weekend, as they raised over £1500 for Great Ormond Street Hospital.

The group, from the Camden Conservative Social Action group, took part in the Santa Dash on Saturday December 3.

Kate Fairhurst, Maria Higson, Amanda Eliades, Rahoul Bhansali, Asha Bhansali and councillor Oliver Cooper braved the weather to raise the cash.

Ms Fairhurst, 26 of West End Lane, West Hampstead, said: “I am blown away by the generosity of those who sponsored us to do Sunday’s Santa Dash and we have raised over £1500 for Great Ormond Street Hospital and the amazing work that they do. We were delighted to join the 2000 other Santas on a cold and damp morning on Clapham Common to raise these vital funds and we hope to go back next year!”

Ms Fairhurst will be running again next year - but this time as a candidate for Swiss Cottage in the Camden Council local government elections.
