The bus company Metroline is working with police to establish how medical student Mingwei Tan died following a collision in Hampstead.

Following reports that Ms Tan was hit by an N5 double-decker night bus outside the Royal Free Hospital, the company has confirmed it is working alongside the Met to establish what happened.

A spokesman for Metroline said: “Our thoughts are with the family at this time. We will continue to do everything we possibly can to assist and cooperate with the police and establish the exact circumstances of the incident.”

It is understood the driver of the bus has been suspended while investigations are carried out.

Miss Tan, 20, from Singapore, was involved in a collision in Pond Street in the early hours of Thursday and her body was dragged up the road and into Haverstock Hill where it was found just before 2am.
