BURGLARS broke down a terrified Kentish Town couple's door and attacked them before searching their home and robbing them.

The three men banged on the door in Lady Margaret Road on October 12 at 12.30am, claiming to be police officers.

The 63-year-old wife was watching television while her husband, 64, was upstairs. They were too shaken by the ordeal to speak to the Ham&High this week.

Two of the suspects searched upstairs and the third watched the front door. While searching the property, the burglars punched the husband upstairs several times, causing him a "minor" injury.

A police spokesman said: "This is quite a rare occurrence in Camden and the couple were quite shaken by the whole incident. If anyone heard or saw anything in Lady Margaret Road that evening, please contact us.

"We are making several enquiries and also looking at any forensic opportunities which will help us identify these suspects."

There have been no arrests so far. Anyone with information should call Camden Police on 020-7404 1212 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
