Boris Johnson attracted crowds of followers as he walked through the streets of West Hampstead on a visit this afternoon.
The mayor of London arrived at the Wet Fish Cafe, in West End Lane, just before 3pm to talk to a crowd of local traders about the support on offer to businesses from City Hall.
He then walked along West End Lane en route to St James C of E Church, popping inside West End Lane Books store and stopping along the way to pose for photos with passers-by.
Mr Johnson then met Fr Andrew Cain, vicar of St James, at the church in Sherriff Road to find out more about the vicar’s plans to run a post office from the church following the planned closure of the West End Lane post office branch.
The visit was arranged by Simon Marcus, the Hampstead and Kilburn Conservative parliamentary candidate for the 2015 general election.
