London Assemblyman Brian Coleman - the self-proclaimed King of Bling - has spoken to the Ham&High about the benefits of being a gay councillor (he doesn't have to worry about a nagging wife who wants to be taken on a night out) his admiration for Margaret Thatcher, and his amazing attack on election opponent Nicky Gavron.

In a candid and at times eyebrow-raising interview, the Assemblyman for Barnet and Camden reveals why he wouldn't venture around some parts of north London with his car door unlocked, and why he's decided to accept an honorary degree from a university he once described as 'crap'.
