On Friday at 7.38pm I saw three bemused cyclists being pulled over by two policemen in a marked Range Rover. The cyclists had foreign accents and clearly struggled to understand what they'd done wrong.
I'll admit here that I've been 'done' - same offence, just a few weeks ago. The policemen, clearly used to people not following the complicated pathways, provided me with a map, told me off and said that £50,000 had been spent on consulting with users of the area. It all seems rather unnecessary and it would be good to know how much it costs and who pays!
