The Deputy Mayor of Camden stepped behind the bar at the official reopening of a Belsize Park pub that has just seen a £350,000 makeover.

Cllr Jonathan Simpson gave manager Jessica Isaksson a helping hand as The George in Haverstock Hill showed off its dramatic revamp at the launch last Thursday.

Cllr Simpson said: “The new look The George is a fantastic addition to the Belsize area. I am sure it will soar in popularity once locals realise they have a new gem on their doorstep serving such great food.”

The pub was closed for four weeks as works were carried out.

Ms Isaksson said: “We are delighted with our new look and feel and look forward to welcoming lots of new faces in over the coming few weeks.”
