An arts centre exploded into life this week with a three-day celebration of African dance styles.
A multitude of techniques from street dance to contemporary African were on display during Afro Dance Xplosion at the Wac Arts College, in Haverstock Hill, Belsize Park, from Friday (September 19) until Sunday.
The annual event, which was into its fourth year, sees dancers with at least two years experience take part in a series of classes and workshops, picking up new styles and techniques from the experts.
It was founded by US-born IT professional and dance enthusiast Carolyn Lilly, who said she started the event because she found a “shortage” of African dance when she moved to England.
She added: “It went really well and I was very happy to have a team of volunteers helping this year – it made it a lot easier!”
