A HARINGEY mother accused of killing her 17-month-old son after months of abuse has today been cleared of his murder.
The 27-year-old woman and house-guest, Jason Owen, 36, were both cleared by a jury in the Old Bailey, due to lack of evidence.
The toddler, who was on a child protection register in Haringey, was found dead on August 3 2007, with a catalogue of injuries including broken ribs and a missing tooth.
The woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, had pleaded guilty to causing or allowing the death and will be sentenced on December 15.
Her boyfriend, who also cannot be named, also stands trial for murder and Mr Owen's trial for allegedly causing or allowing death continues.
