An author and academic has launched her latest book exploring how society views old age.
Columnist and sociologist Anne Karpf read from her latest book How to Age at Primrose Hill Community Library in Sharpeshall Street, Primrose Hill on Monday evening before taking questions.
Ms Karpf, who was a long-time Primrose Hill resident before moving recently, spoke about how people often see ageing as a medical process and argued that old age is defined historically and culturally.
How to Age, released last month, is the London Metropolitan University lecturer’s fourth book.
It is part of a self-help series published by Alain de Botton’s School of Life, a cultural enterprise that offers evening classes in leading a fulfilled life.
