The director of a women’s-only networking club has said she chose to launch in Hampstead because of the large number of small businesses run by women in the area.
The Hampstead branch of the national business networking company, Athena Network, will be made up of businesswomen working in and around Hampstead who will meet once a month to network over lunch.
More than 30 female business owners attended the launch last week at the Princess of Wales pub, Chalcot Street, Primrose Hill, and it proved so popular that regional director Maureen Nwachuku had to turn about 15 people away at the door.
On why she set up a networking group in Hampstead, Ms Nwachuku said: “There are lots of small businesses in Hampstead with female owners.”
