Well I think we can say that we've hit rock bottom.

The day the broadsheets start printing pages of jokes about you is the time to truly hang your heads.

It seems that nowhere in the media is immune from laughing themselves silly at our expense, and to be honest, who can blame them?

It just means that I can't listen to the radio, open a newspaper or turn on the television, but in a lot of cases that's no real loss.

I just want it to end soon though please.

Was Stoke City going to be the real low, where everything possible went wrong?

I guess we'll find out on Sunday at the Lane.

If, heaven forbid, we don't get the first Premier League win of the season against Bolton Wanderers then the rumblings of discontent will surely erupt into open warfare, and it's hard to see how that will repair our already shattered confidence.

It's been a long time since fan protests helped bring ENIC into the club, and you would hope the days when leaflets and protests were needed were far behind us.

But at the moment there doesn't seem to be anybody taking responsibility, coming out in public and admitting mistakes with pledges to put things right.

The management team is being left to fend for itself, while the big bosses remain as shy as ever.

Some leadership right from the very top would surely help placate the fans and keep them focused on supporting the team.

Not the dreaded vote of confidence, but a loud admission that the directors made mistakes and that they will be remedied.

Some chance.
