New striker Perry Groves, signed for �45,000 from Colchester, scored just 20 minutes into his home debut as Arsenal beat Watford 3-1.
Groves also won a penalty converted by Martin Hayes, before Niall Quinn headed a late third in front of 24,076 at Highbury.
Meanwhile, Gunners defender Tony Adams celebrated his 20th birthday by being named Fiat Uno Young Player of the Month.
