A recent report stated that up to 200,000 tonnes of recyclable waste was dumped last year with some councils failing to recycle over 10 per cent materials left out by conscientious homeowners.

In the light of the increasing burden on the householder to recycle, it is time for Barnet Council to come clean and reassure us all that these unpaid efforts are not in vain.
