SWISS COTTAGE will be transformed into a carnival of live music and dance when the annual Swiss Cottage Festival returns on Saturday July 17.
This year the party-goers will enjoy fairground rides, food stalls and a car boot sale. The festivities, which will be held in the open space between the leisure centre and Hampstead Theatre will cost nothing to enter.
One of the main attractions every year is the music performances from local musicians.
This year the organisers have put together a line up including soul from De Carlo and some upbeat pop from Senior Service and Iberian Dance.
A Korean sword fighting demonstration will also take place.
Don Williams, Chair of the Swiss Cottage Festival said: "Swiss Cottage is one of London's most diverse communities and the annual Swiss Cottage Festival is a celebration of that, bringing everything our little corner of the Capital has to offer into one place. It's a fabulous free day out for local residents"
A photography competition will also be judged at the festival and there is still time to enter.
The competition is open, until July 9, to local residents aged between 7 and 16.
The theme is We Love Swiss Cottage and the winning photographer from the three age groups will be crowned Young Photographer of the 2010 Swiss Cottage Festival. The winning photographs will be displayed in the Swiss Cottage Library.
