Labour must take the defection of a Noel Park councillor over allowances as a wake up call. They must abandon plans to increase the budget for 'special' allowances for Labour councillors by �40,000. We voted against this outrageous increase but Labour is clearly out of touch and now even some of their own realise this. At the next election Haringey voters will have the choice between a fresh start with the Liberal Democrats or more of the same with Labour.
