Four Weddings and a Funeral film star Sophie Thompson donated a piece of art to an exhibition in aid of the National Hospital for Neurology in Queen’s Square, Bloomsbury.
Sophie, 54, the sister of fellow actress Emma Thompson, was among artists who donated works to The National Brain Appeal’s exhibition, A Letter in Mind – A View on Nature, which raised £15,000 in just a few days.
Other pieces among the 277 works of art have been donated by artists Antony Gormley and Grayson Perry, as well as the Queen’s niece, Lady Sarah Chatto.
The artists were invited to take inspiration from their personal relationship with the natural world and environment and produce work on an envelope.
The works are being sold anonymously, identically priced at £85. The artist’s name is only revealed after the piece has been sold.
