Actress Cherie Lunghi opened a new monthly food and crafts market at a primary school in Camden on Sunday.

The 61-year-old, famed for a memorable series of Kenco coffee adverts and for an appearance in the Strictly Come Dancing television series, cut the ribbon to open the Brecknock market.

The new market, held on the grounds of Brecknock Primary School, in York Way, Cantelowes, will be held every Sunday between 10am and 2pm.

Amanda Leach, 31, one of the market’s founders, said: “It was really busy, much more than we were expecting. We had nothing but good comments from local people who attended.

“We left a customer comments book out and every comment says we have brought something great to the area. All the traders said it was a great success as well.”
