Hundreds of people gathered to help raise £1,400 at May Day celebrations being held on the 40th anniversary of the Kentish Town City Farm this weekend.
Around 900 parents and children took part in an afternoon of events on Sunday (April 5), which also saw the launch of the city farm’s newest campaign Food for Thought, educating local residents about nutritious and healthy eating.
Families took part in a series of events including arts and crafts, a maypole dance, and a special farm olympics.
But the biggest attraction by far were the farm’s pigs and piglets, according to staff.
Simone Uncle, activities and events coordinator, said: “It was a really successful afternoon - I’m so glad the sun was on our side.

“It was great to see so many people coming down to the farm, but our only problem was we ran out of sausages in the first hour.
“We owe a huge amount to our volunteers who help keep everything running successfully”.
