Pupils at a Belsize Park private school have been named the kindest in the capital for each performing at least five acts of heartwarming generosity in a year.

St Christopher's Prep School in Belsize Lane took home the title of London school of the year at the SuperKind Social Impact Schools Awards 2026.

The SuperKind Schools Programme encourages pupils to make a positive difference in their communities through volunteering, fundraising, and social action.

Hundreds of schools across the country took part, with the 4-11 year olds at the Belsize Park girls' school being singled out for making kindness a part of daily school life.

Every year the school's chamber choir sings holiday songs outside The Royal Free Hospital in aid of The Royal Free Charity, and dedicates its annual winter concert to raising money for the charity.

They also raise funds for the Royal British Legion as part of the school’s Remembrance day on 11 November - and the choir spreads festive cheer by singing at the Christmas lunch for the elderly at the Queens Crescent Community Association.

The past year has also included a charity day of in school activities in aid of The London Wildlife Trust. And Year 6 students also raised money for Rainforest Concern by running their own stalls at the summer fair.

Keren Mitchell, co-founder of SuperKind, said: "The SuperKind Social Impact Schools Award is a brilliant opportunity to celebrate the schools and pupils engaging with social action initiatives.

"Every school in this year’s award has done something special, but St Christopher’s Prep School stands out," she said.

"Behind five acts of kindness per pupil is a school that has made kindness part of everyday school life.

"Social action gives young people the confidence to make a difference in their communities, and St Christopher’s Prep School shows what is possible when a whole school commits to it.

"Congratulations to every pupil and member of staff."

The SuperKind Social Impact Schools Award recognises winners in each category by the highest number of social action activities per pupil.

SuperKind’s Schools Programme helps children develop a sense of belonging and agency while building confidence and skills for the future - and supports teachers in integrating social action into classroom learning and school culture.

St Christopher’s Prep School was singled out for making kindness a core part of its ethos and embracing the value of giving back.
