Teenagers are celebrating after achieving a record-breaking set of GCSE results.
Year 11 pupils at University College School (UCS) secured the school’s best-ever performance, with 58 per cent of grades awarded at 9—the highest possible mark.
A further 84 per cent of results were graded at 9 or 8, and 94 per cent at 9 to 7.

Mark Beard, headmaster at UCS, said: "This is a wonderful moment for our GCSE pupils, and I am enormously proud of what they have achieved. Behind these outstanding results are individual stories of hard work, determination and ambition, as well as the exceptional commitment of the teachers who have supported and inspired them throughout their time at UCS.
"Our pupils can now look forward to the Sixth Form with confidence, ready to explore the subjects that inspire them most and make the very most of the opportunities that lie ahead."
Nineteen pupils achieved straight 9s, while 57 earned only 9s and 8s.
In English literature, 92 per cent of grades were 9 or 8, in maths it was 90 per cent, and 80 per cent of history grades were a grade 9. Similar high standards were seen in modern languages, with 80 per cent of grades in French, German, Italian, Mandarin and Spanish at 9 or 8.
Mark English, vice master, said: "These are outstanding results, and I am absolutely delighted for our pupils. GCSE results have a significance that extends well beyond the Sixth Form.
"They have real currency: when pupils come to apply to university, these are the only externally assessed, published examination results they will have achieved. They matter, and our pupils can move forward with confidence and with an exceptionally strong platform from which to pursue their ambitions."
Among the top performers was Charlie, who was awarded nine 9s, one 8, and an A in further maths.
Lucas, who achieved six 9s and four 8s, said: "Overall, I’m really glad with my results. I got what I was hoping for, and I really think the school helped me out with learning how to study efficiently."
