GCSE success has been celebrated at Haringey Learning Partnership, where staff and students say the results are redefining what’s possible in alternative education.

Students at the alternative provision school have achieved strong grades across the board, with many earning qualifications above the national average for similar settings.

Individual achievements include Shani, who earned eight GCSEs at grade 4 and above, including a grade 7 in food preparation and nutrition.

Ava, who achieved eight GCSEs at grade 5 and above, including grade 7s in English language and literature, said: "I just don't know how to put what I feel into words right now. It feels surreal.

"HLP has taught me so much, not only academic skills, but about myself."

Executive headteacher Gerry Robinson said: "Whatever the outcomes students received today, we are proud of every single one of them. This cohort has overcome adversity, navigated challenges and shown extraordinary resilience throughout their time with us.

"Today's results matter because they open doors, but they only tell part of the story. What they cannot fully capture is the personal growth we have seen, the confidence that has been rebuilt, the relationships that have been formed and the aspirations that have been reignited.

"These results continue to place HLP significantly above national outcomes for Alternative Provision, whilst our students also leave with a far broader range of qualifications than is typical nationally.

"I would like to thank our staff, families and our wider community for the role they have played in these achievements. Most importantly, I would like to congratulate our students.

"They should leave today knowing how proud we are of them and excited about what comes next."

Science was a particular strength this year, with student Cass achieving an 8-8 in combined science, and every student in food preparation and nutrition earning above a grade 2.
