A campsite by a river within an hour of north London has been named one of the best places to book this summer.
Campsite booking platform Campsites.co.uk has just released its 2026 list of Outstanding Sites, with five located within an hour of the capital.
The closest to north west London is Hurley Riverside Park on the outskirts of Henley-on-Thames and - as its name suggests - right on the banks of The Thames.

It's the third year that it has made the list of outstanding sites and enjoys a 4.91 star rating on the platform with 100 per cent of visitors saying they would recommend the site to others.
Martin Smith, founder of Campsites.co.uk, said: "It's a real pleasure to launch our list of outstanding sites for 2026.
"The chosen campsites are all trusted favourites with our campers, and sites we're proud to put our name to, so you can book with confidence."
This year’s Outstanding Sites list features 150 of the top camping, touring and glamping destinations based on verified guest reviews, value for money, quality of facilities, location, service, cleanliness and online engagement.

Hurley Riverside Park was named runner-up for both best caravan park and best family campsite in south-east England at last year's awards.
The family-friendly and dog friendly site has been owned and operated by the same family for four generations since 1926.
It offers a shop, nature trail, dog exercise field, a play park, and a slipway to the river where you can launch paddleboards and canoes - and riverside walks to the beauty spot of Hurley Lock.
One reviewer said: "The facilities are second to none and the best I have ever used – top marks here."
Another added: "There are no words to appraise this park. The best one we've visited in the UK."
Campsites.co.uk is used by more than 10 million Brits each year and visitors can compare more than 3,000 sites across the UK, each with in-depth descriptions, hi-res photos, and numerous guest reviews.
