A mother has been taking part in a 70km fundraising challenge in memory of her late daughter.
Kathy Childress, 61, from Muswell Hill, has been taking part in Christian Aid’s 70k in May challenge, doing the distance in 5k bursts each day to raise funds during this year’s Christian Aid Week.
Kathy, who works for the charity as legacy partnerships and training manager, said: "Every year, during this appeal, people across Britain and Ireland come together in so many ways to support the work of our partners around the world.

"I’m doing the 70k in May challenge because I want to play my part in helping people everywhere to live the fullest life they can, free from poverty. I’ve raised the £200 I set out to and I know this will help to make a difference."
She dedicated the challenge to her daughter, Esther, who had bone cancer and left a gift in her Will to Christian Aid, aged just 14.
Ms Childress said: "She is my inspiration."
Funds raised will support Christian Aid’s global partners in finding sustainable ways to lift communities out of poverty.
This year’s appeal focused on Nairobi, Kenya, where families struggle to afford food and basic necessities.
